going through the emotional world of breast cancer.
North Carolina writer/painter Rose Firestone writes poetry that focuses on women's issues in her own genre' of "creative imagery". Using a unique juxtaposition of words that breathe life into each page, she explores life's journey of aging gracefully, aging parents and acceptance of their passing and real life issues for women of all stages of life. She writes from her own personal experiences as well as those of others, offering solace empathy and understanding to her readers.
people inspire me to write .... life inspires me to write ....
a walk in the park, a kiss in the dark, children and love inspires me to write ....
i see an older couple driving in a red sports car with the top down and i think about who they are…where they are going .... i imagine myself sitting in that car and listening to their conversation .... a thought occurs; a feeling happens and a piece is born .... Red Car was written from such an experience ....
Hailing from Long Island New York, Rose now considers herself a semi -(North Carolina) native. With 25 years of southern living under her belt, she says she has never been happier. The North Carolina beach influence in her writing and paintings gives her wonderful insight to both color and calm imagery.
Rose has worked with children all her life. Starting in New York; working at an institution for retarded children she found how gratifying giving can be. After moving to North Carolina and raising her family, it was time for her to branch back to the work force. So, onto special education with Wake County Schools she went. There she continued her love of helping children spending her days in first grade. With 21 years of school experience she looks forward to finishing her career and continuing her journey.
i want to take some classes, write and paint more, spend more time with my husband, children and grand children. I want lots more time at the beach, to reflect and find new images for her book through painting and photography.
